3. PERSONNEL

  1. Commanding and Staff Officers - See par 2 Annex #1.
  2. Organic Strength - See par 1 Annex #1.
  3. Reinforcements during period - See par 4 Annex #1.
  4. Prisoners of war - 460.
  5. Battle Casualties during period - See par 3 Annex #1.
  6. Awards and Decorations - See par 7 Annex #1.
  7. Battlefield Promotions - See par 5 Annex #1.
  8. Grave Registration - During the period eleven members of the regiment were evacuated by the Regimental Graves Registration Officer. All were evacuated to the Ninth Army Cemetery at Margraten, Holland.
  9. Special Service
    1. Pass policy - 2290 men of the 311th Infantry went on pass during the period. These were one to three day passes, including trips to Valkenburg, Holland, and Paris, France, as well as the 78th Infantry Division Rest Center at Raeren, Belgium.
    2. Post Exchange Supplies - Special Service continued to handle the distribution of PX Items, as well as the free Quartermaster issue of PX material.
    3. Movies - The battalion which was in regimental reserve was presented with motion pictures just in rear of the front lines. 15 movies were presented to 60 men at each showing.
  10. Courts-martial - None
  11. Information - Education and public Relations - Normal activities continued, with particular emphasis on press releases at the time of intensive action and immediately following.

4. EVACUATION AND SUPPLY

  1. The Regimental S-4 reports the supply situation unchanged during this period. The issuance of all classes of supplies remains satisfactory. Dumps and issuing points remained in the same locations. Two hot meals were served to front line troops daily.
  2. Medical - The Regimental Surgeon reports the evacuation system unchanged and completely satisfactory.
