Indian Institute for Training & Development (IITD) started functioning as Human Resource Development Centre, coming into existence in the year 1985. The organization is imparting training/consultancy to various Govt./Non Government and other Organization in the field of different development/management aspects. IITD entered into the arena of implementation of development project when it started the project of ‘HIV/AIDS Prevention & Control’ sanctioned by Govt. of West Bengal, among the migrant fisherman at Kakdwip since 1^st January 2000. While doing such work, it observed acute shortage of drinking water in the Kakdwip area and moved by the appeal of local residents to mitigate their sufferings – health hazards due to non-availability of safe drinking water. This is the genesis of the tube well project. IITD managed the Tubewell project in fishing-villages – Kakdwip, Bay of Bengal 2003 – 2006 - 2009 IITD currently copies the tubwell project in 12 communities on the Islands around Kakdwip Water to Development – W2D – Islands around Kakdwip 2009 – 2012 - 2015 IITD is a local NGO and it has also a close relationship with our other partners WBVHA, HW and KFSC.
