Luxurious edition...

Again we start from a table-tennis ball. This time we'll need a fake eye which is being used by doll-makers. The difference is that we won't paint the eye on the ball, but use a real dolls eye which has a more realistic effect. We make a hole in the ball in which we put the eye.

Usage:

First make a hole in the ping pong ball. To make a perfect circle, hold a screw against it, and use your solder iron on the inside to melt the circle. It works fine and easy!!,

The ball is made out of celluloid which seems to evaporate by the heat of the soldering iron. You may have a little black border, use sand paper and it's gone in a second. The hole should be about the same size of the dolls eye. I used an eye of 1 inch.

In the back side of the ball there has to be made a hole, a little bigger to get the eye trough.You have to cut the eye in two before. Use a plastic eye, not a glass one !

Cut the eye in two and then put it in the ball. To do this easy, put a nail on using some clay. That way it's easy to put the half eye in the middle of the hole in the ball. Put some glue on the inside of the ball and it'll stick.

This way the dolls eye is attached to the ball. When the eye is glued to the ball it's easy to remove the nail. Then pour glue in the ball and put the shaft in.

We also paint red lines on this eye.....

This is how the finished eye looks like.....

Both models next to each other. I did put a coating of varnish on it to protect the paint and red marker.

Extra Tip:

When removing the old handle from the shooter-bar, be careful not to bend or damage it. Therefor you'll need a piece of metal pipe and a metal pin.

First drill a hole of about 5mm in the head of the handle.

Place the pipe vertical and put the shooter shaft in. Then place a metal pin in the hole. Hit it with a hammer and the shaft will come loose from the handel.
