Swedish experimental artist Mathias Josefson started to operate under the
Moljebka Pvlse moniker around 1999...
With releases under his belt for labels such as EIBON, COLD MEAT INDUSTRY, SEGERHUVA, FIN DE SIECLE MEDIA & some highly impressive work on his own ISORAMARA imprint, he became quickly renowned for his weaving of magnetizing droney ambiences mainly based on manipulated guitar patterns, despite some rarer harsher, noisier digressions...
On his majestic MS contribution, Mathias renews his sublime ethereal dronalia...

 Despite Mathias Josefson's, aka Moljebka Pvlse, many releases on such labels as Eibon, Cold Meat Industry, Fin de Siecle or Segerhuva, a CDR release is still an option for him, but maybe the good and solid reputation of Mystery Sea is particular helpful. On 'Irdlivirissong', Moljebka Pvlse plays one hour long piece of his manipulated guitar playing. Long sustained sounds, dwelling on echo and reverb and god knows what other colorful boxes to manipulate the guitar with makes this into a cascading wave of sound. Whereas many of the Mystery Sea releases sound like, or reflect, the life beneath the surface of the sea, Moljebka Pvlse is rather like a sea surface. Likes waves rolling ashore, this music offers a similar drift, but it is very much more present and upfront than many other Mystery Sea releases. However one should not think a nice warm pacific ocean water drift, but rather nordic and cold, music that is a bit metallic and rusty sounding, wrecks washing ashore - alienated sea, of life just disappeared. File under dark and atmospheric. I particular enjoyed this soundtrack.

 A solo project of Sweden's Mathias Josefson, Moljebka Pvlse has a remarkable series of releases on cult labels like Cold Meat Industries, Eibon, Segerhuva or Fin de Siècle, not to mention his own Isoramara. Every cd of his I've listened to is slightly or notably different from the other, but always maintaining a heartfelt and passionate approach to minimalism which makes it unique. This limited release on beloved Mystery Sea is a lengthy 65-minute track which flows smoothly from one atmosphere to the other, eventually sounding like a perfect synthesis of Josefson's darker pulses (as in "Sadalmelik" or in some live performances) and the more melodic and less claustrophobic pieces on "The leaves of their songs". While shades are still present overhead (just listen from minute 40 onwards), it's clear that Moljebka's ambient doesn't belong to the same niche as, say, Lustmord's or Raison d'Etre's, being rather close to the suspended soundscapes of Monos, Mirror, Andrew Chalk or even Eno's "On land".
