L'art
n'a pas une destination
décorative, mais il retourne
plutôt aux gens une connaissance
sur eux-mêmes. Quiconque affirme
donc ne rien comprendre aux arts,
ne peut pas prétendre ensuite
donner un sens à quoi que ce
soit, et surtout pas à
lui-même. L'art n'est pas une
sorte d'ornement qui viendrait
meubler l'esprit ou les murs du
salon, car il est surtout un
instrument de production. |
La
culture est la chose au monde
dont les gens ont le plus besoin,
avant même de manger !
Car nous savons que pour produire
des aliments en suffisance, il a
fallu inventer l'agriculture.
Peut-être que le double sens du
mot culture se trouve dans cette
origine. |
Aujourd'hui
et à chaque occasion, on observe
que le problème se pose dans les
mêmes termes : l'ingéniosité
peut seule trouver les solutions
aux difficultés du moment.
L'intelligence du présent, doté
de la mémoire du passé,
s'invente un avenir possible.
Tandis que l'ignorance n'a jamais
rendu service à qui que ce soit. |
Tel
le joueur d'échecs, il faut
penser à chaque étape de
l'action, et autant que possible
anticiper quelques coups en
avance. Notre époque de
quantité, où la complexité
croissante du monde moderne
provoque le vertige du chaos,
nécessite plus que jamais une
vision claire et des
simplifications rigoureuses. Les
expressions artistiques comme les
théories scientifiques sont des
appuis solides pour donner un
sens à notre vie, pour garder le
sens de la réalité. |
Quelle
est la finalité de l'activité
humaine ?
Le malheur de la majorité pour
le profit de quelques-uns; une
perspective sinistre sur un
avenir bouché; une errance
aveugle dans un labyrinthe de
platitudes; la violence morbide
comme valeur dominante; et
l'argent, seul libre, par-dessus
tout comme véhicule efficace de
la terreur ? |
Il
semble que de tout temps, le
grand art ait dépassé pour
lui-même ces sombres limites et
qu'il ait protesté envers sa
propre servilité. En cela il est
le plus bel exemple
d'émancipation. C'est la percée
au travers de la voûte du
tombeau (architecture); la taille
à fleur de peau de la victoire (sculpture);
l'envol hors de la dimension du
labyrinthe (peinture);
le cri près de l'âme du martyr
(musique); l'écart loin de la
nature du même (poésie);
la parole montée sur planche
publique (théâtre); le regard
de l'instant durable sur le vif
du sujet (photographie); la
spirale d'images qui projette sa
lumière d'ombres mobiles
(cinéma); la vision du lointain
partout au même moment
(télévision); le lien
hypertextuel dans le contexte
universel (internet); le passage
"au nord-ouest" de la
puanteur du canal
(littérature)...
Bref un pont jeté pour l'aube
d'une humanité émancipée qui
est le seul crépuscule des
dieux. |
L'art
et la philosophie
tournent autour du même point
d'irradiation central : la vie
humaine, miracle de l'univers,
héritier d'une dialectique
matérielle géniale. Mais si la
cosmologie scientifique rend
vaines tant de querelles
mesquines de la vie quotidienne,
elle se trouve comme incarnée
dans les gestes suffisants et
nécessaires des gens qui veulent
vivre en civilisés. |
Cette principale revendication se
manifeste sous toutes sortes de
visages : alphabétisation et
critique de l'idéalisme;
manifestation et démocratie;
qualification et autogestion;
liberté d'expression et
publicisme; droit au travail et
résistance à l'exploitation;
éducation première et double
réflexion; antiracisme et
dialogue des civilisations...
De la méthode contre la
confusion ! |
Quand
on regarde l'expansion actuelle
des média mettant sur orbite des
canons de diffusion massive, on
saisit que cette fin de
millénaire sera marquée du
sceau indélébile d'une vraie
révolution culturelle qui va
décoiffer plus d'un chinois.
Mais révolution n'est pas
automatiquement progrès ou
amélioration de la situation
réelle. Il nous appartient,
comme à chacun, de l'orienter
dans un sens positif, sinon elle
ne sera que la répétition
amplifiée par l'industrie
lourde, de ce qui fut jadis
"du pain et des jeux"...
Mais où le pain aura un fort
goût de sang. Le principe du
sacrifice n'a-t-il pas assez
duré ? |

English version (translated from
the here above french text) |
Art
does not have a decorative
destination, but it rather turns
over to people a knowledge on
themselves. Whoever thus affirms
anything to understand with arts,
cannot then claim to give a sense
to anything, and especially not
to itself. Art is not a kind of
ornament which would come to
furnish the spirit or the lounge
walls, because it is especially
an instrument of production. |
The
culture is the thing in the world
whose people have more the need,
before even eating !
Because we know that to produce
food in sufficiency, should have
been invented agriculture.
Perhaps that the double meaning
of the word culture is in this
origin. |
Today
and on each occasion, one
observes that the problem arises
in the same terms: ingeniousness
can only find the solutions with
the difficulties of the moment.
The intelligence of the present,
equipped with the memory of the
past, invents a possible future.
While ignorance never rendered
service to anyone. |
Such
as the chess player, it is
necessary to think of each stage
of the action, and as much as
possible anticipating some blows
in advance. Our time of quantity,
where the increasing complexity
of the modern world causes the
giddiness of chaos, requires more
than ever a clear vision and
rigorous simplifications. The
artistic expressions as the
scientific theories are solid
supports to give a sense to our
life, to keep the sense of
reality. |
Which
is the finality of the human
activity? The misfortune of the
majority for the profit of some;
a sinister perspective on a no
future; a wandering in a
labyrinth of flatness; morbid
violence like dominant value; and
money, only free, over all just
like effective vehicle of terror
? |
It
seems that from immemorial time,
great art has transgressed for
itself these dark limits and that
he protested towards his own
servility. In that it is the most
beautiful example of
emancipation. It is the opening
through the vault of the tomb
(architecture); The cutting of
skin of the victory (sculpture);
the flying out of the dimension
of the labyrinth (painting);
the cry close to the heart of the
martyr (music); the variation far
from the same nature (poetry);
words put on public wood board
(theatre); the glance of the
durable moment on the sharp one
of the subject (photography); the
spiral of images which projects
its light of mobile shades
(cinema); vision of the faraway
everywhere at the same time
(television); the hypertextuel
link in the universal context
(Internet); "to the
North-West" passage of the
stink of the channel
(literature)... In short a bridge
thrown for the beginning of an
emancipated humanity which is the
only waning of the gods
(götterdämmerung). |
Art and philosophy
turn around the same central
point of irradiation: human life,
miracle of the universe, heir to
clever material dialectic. But if
scientific cosmology makes vain
so much of petty quarrels of the
everyday life, it is as
incarnated in the sufficient and
necessary gestures of people who
want to live in civilized. |
This
principal claim appears under all
kinds: elimination of illiteracy
and critical of the idealism;
demonstration and democracy;
qualification and
self-management; freedom of
expression and publicisme; right
to work and resistance to the
exploitation; education first and
double reflection; antiracism and
dialogue of civilizations...
The method versus
confusion ! |
When
one looks at the current
expansion of the media putting on
orbit a system of massive
diffusion, one seizes that this
end of millenium will be marked
indelible seal of a true cultural
revolution which goes shake more
than one Chinese. But revolution
is not automatically progress or
improvement of the real
situation. It belongs to us, as
with each one, to direct it in a
positive direction, if not it
will be only the repetition
amplified by heavy industry, of
what was formerly "bread and
plays"... But where
the bread will have a strong
taste of blood.
Didn't the principle of the
sacrifice last enough ? |
