From 1945 to the present

 

In 1948 the 2nd Battalion Grenadiers was recreated as a reserve unit. Between 1951 and 1961 it was known as the "2nd Battalion of First Grenadiers". In 1952 the name "Battalion of Royal Palace Guards" was added but it was only in 1955 that it again officially took the colours and traditions of the 2nd Grenadiers Regiment.
In 1961 the 2nd Battalion of the 1st Grenadiers became "2nd Grenadiers Regiment".

Today the exact denomination of our unit is:

Its colours, preserved at the Royal Army Museum and since May 1997 at the headquarters of the Military Area of Brussels-Brabant, is decorated with:
