Commentaire / Commentary :
Barbe Bleue est l'adaptation du célèbre conte de Perrault, adaptation libre inspirée aussi par la tradition orale bretonne qui a précédé l'écrivain. Le conte décrit un huis-clos cruel et spectaculaire, échafaudé autour de la figure psychotique du personnage titulaire (un serial killer avant l'heure). La véritable héroïne de l'histoire est Ariane, sa jeune épouse. Celle-ci effectue un parcours initiatique qui lui ôtera son innocence première. La création de ce film en volume, c'est-à-dire avec des marionnettes articulées, a duré trois ans et demi. Pour en savoir plus, un "making of" détaillé et abondamment illustré de photos est visible sous forme de blog, rédigé au fur et à mesure, sur le site de Zorobabel. Du côté des décors, l'univers mis en scène dans les maquettes va chercher du côté des architectures tourmentées d'Antoni Gaudi et de l'iconographie des romans de Jules Vernes.
Bluebeard is an adaptation of the famous Perrault's famous tale.It is also inspired by oral tradition, which was around before the author's time.It is a cruel and spectacular story based on the psychotic countenance ofthe eponymous character (Bluebeard was a serial killer before his time). The true main character of the story is his young wife Ariane. She embarks on an initiatory journey that is to end in the loss of her basic innocence. The creation of this stop motion film, i.e. with articulated puppets, has lasted three years and half. The set is inspired by the tormented architectures of Antoni Gaudi and the universe of Jules Vernes'novels.

Biographie / Biography :
La création de ce film résulte de la démarche de jeunes auteurs rassemblés en " Atelier Collectif " dont William Henne assure la coordination. Créé en 1995, cet ensemble regroupe des créateurs s'intéressant aux diverses facettes de l'univers du film : narration, mise en scène, scénographie, photographie, etc. Les membres de l'équipe échangent leur savoir-faire dans une logique d'Éducation Permanente caractérisant, depuis ses débuts, Zorobabel (la structure de production). En 1997, William Henne réalise son propre film "Tout Jeune Garçon" puis, trois ans plus tard, sous sa houlette, l' "Atelier Collectif" offre son premier film d'animation, "Barbe Bleue". "Le petit théâtre mécanique " est le second film de l' "Atelier Collectif".
As coordinator of the 'Collective Workshop' ('Atelier Collectif'), created in 1995, William Henne is along with other artists involved in many aspects of the world of filmmaking : narration, direction, scenography, photography, etc. All the creators of the 'Collective Workshop' team exchange their ideas and experience with a permanent educationnal logic characteristic of Zorobabel (the production structure). In 1997, William Henne directed his own film 'When I Was Young' .Three years later, under Henne's direction, the 'Collective Workshop' released its first animated film, 'Bluebeard' in 2000. ''Bluebeard' is the first film of the 'Collective workshop'.
