7 days - Mali: by way of taste


Day 1: Welcome at the airport of Bamako by Malibou. Overnight stay in Auberge Djamilla.

Day 2 : In the morning departure to Djenné by 4x4. Pick-nick alongside the road. Crossing the Niger and arrival early in the evening at Djenné. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel Campement.

Day 3 : Guided visit of Djenné with its well-known mosque (the biggest loam construction in the world), the market, the bogolan-weavers. Departure to Dogon-land. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel Le Cheval blanc in Bandiagara.

Day 4 : Visit of the village Duru. In the evening departure for Mopti, the Venice of Africa. Dinner and overnight stay in Doux Rêves.

Day 5 : Visit of Mopti; the harbour, the moorings of the pinasses (typical boat of the Niger), the market in the harbour, the handicraft market, the mosque. A ride with a pinasse on the Niger. Lunch in bar-restaurant Bozo with view on the activities on the banks of the River. In the afternoon departure for San. Dinner and overnight stay in the Campement of San.

Day 6 : Departure for Bamako. Stop in Ségou for lunch and visit. Arrival at nightfall in Bamako. Dinner and overnight stay in Auberge Djamilla.

Day 7 : Visit of the town: central market, monuments and museums… dinner in restaurant Amandine. Rest in the hotel and transport to the airport.

Included in the price: shuttle from and to airport, trips by 4x4, the ferry and the boat trip, overnight stays with half pension, local guides, a French or English speaking guide all along your trip.

Not included in the price: the flights, insurance, the drinks with your meals in hotels and restaurants, lunches.

Recommended airlines:
Brussels Airlines goes twice a week directly from Brussels to Bamako.
You also can fly with Air France, Tunis Air and Royal Air Maroc to Bamako.
Point Afrique offers some charter flights.

Don't forget to bring with you repellent for mosquitos, sleeping bag, cotton clothes, casual shoes, your pharmaceutics and sun oil. You don't need to bring your tent with you.
