The
NWC was founded in 1998 to play Napoleonic computer games. These games are currently the Talonsoft/Matrix Napoleonic games,
HPS simulations Napoleonic Campaign series by John Tiller and AGEOD's Napoleonic games.
All level of players are welcome from novice to expert. A friendly atmosphere is the norm for all.
All recruits will pass through a training session of the respective Armies/Nationality
they
join to familiarize them with PBEM and the
club rules.
Your level of expertise will be taken into account. The excellent staff are there
to answer questions and to help. Questions are welcome and many members are available to assist. The NWC wishes to provide a military and historical
flavor to members, not a points ladder club, but a way to participate and enjoy the times portrayed. Promotions are based on quality of play and
leadership, not just on the number of games played.
The NWC is
organized in a General Staff type system with a "civilian" cabinet
administration to balance the pure military perspective. Participation by members is encouraged to reduce paperwork and administrative
duties. Role playing is encouraged to portray the natural rivalry and positions of the French Armies and Allied armies.
Friendly banter is the norm, however rude and antagonistic behavior will not be tolerated.
Games will be organized by opposing
Commanders as well as individual challenges and posting at the primary club
forum
"The Rhine Tavern" at the Napoleonic Wargame opponent finder.
To
join the club you first will need to choose which side you will want to play either as
the French Army or one of the Allied Armies/Nationality.
Note that you can play games from any side in the club and receive points. As you play games points will be given out to both players based on
level of win and turns played. You will receive points even if you lose a game. You gain
rank as points are accumulated.
Obviously you will gain more points when you win. Points are also given out for duties that help the club.
Awards and medals
are given out for various achievements within the club. As previously said this is not a ladder club.
Your rank mostly defines tenure and involvement in the club.
