Officer responsibilities

Duties of battalion/regimental commanders
  • Play games and win battles for the honour of the Anglo-Allied army.
Duties of brigade commanders

  • Stay in contact with your battalion or regimental commanders.
  • Report communication problems to Army commander.
  • Forward officers for medals.
  • Try to establish a brigade website (worth 3 game points/ month).
Duties of divisional commanders
  • Play games and win battles for the honour of the Anglo-Allied army.
  • Stay in contact with your brigade commanders.
  • Report communication problems to Army commander.
  • Forward officers for medals.
  • Try to establish a divisional website (worth 3 game points/ month).
Duties of corps commanders
  • Play games and win battles for the honour of the Anglo-Allied army.
  • Stay in contact with your divisional and brigade commanders.
  • Report communication problems to Army commander.
  • Forward officers for medals.
  • Try to establish a corps website (worth 3 game points/ month).

Special duties for Guard commanders.
  • Discuss changes to the guard with the army commander.
  • Forward new members to the army commander.
  • Stay in contact with the guard members, for example by organising a yearly Guards Tournament.
  • Maintain a website. When this is not possible, somebody else can do it in close cooperation with the guards commander.
The general task is awarder with 5 monthly game points. Website maintenance will bring an additional 5 game points.

Special duties for Academy commander
  • Manage the Academy.
  • Welcome new recruits and assign them to instructors.
  • Make sure that there are enough instructors around.
  • Keep contact with both instructors and recruits and monitor their training progress.
  • Report the status of recruits regularly to the army commander.
  • Actively involved in 'recruitment', together with the army commander. For this other wargame club-forums can be addressed as well as "old and not active" members.
  • Maintain a website. When this is not possible, somebody else can do it in close cooperation with the guards commander.
The general task is awarder with 5 monthly game points. Website maintenance will bring an additional 5 game points.

Duties of the chief of staff
  • Process the muster forms.
  • Process the game records.
  • Maintain an officer roster and forward this to the army commander once a month.
  • Forward officers for promotions and medals to the army commander.
  • Maintain army websites or parts of it is possible.

Duties of army commander
  • Play games and win battles for the honour of the Anglo-Allied army.
  • Stay in contact with corps commanders.
  • Report the general situation to the club cabinet.
  • Promote officers and award medals.
  • Manage the OOB and (re) place officers when necessary.
  • Establish and manage an army website.
  • Coordinate activities in the Guards and Academy.
  • Make sure that new recruits are coming in regularly by actively promoting the club.
  • Make decisions in case of problems or conflicts.
  • Stay in contact with the other armies in the club.

Duties of Instructors (also partly the Academy commander)
  1. The academy commander will ask an instructor to train the cadet.
  2. The instructor will welcome the cadets to the Academy and show them around in the NWC; ask if all is clear or if they have further questions about the club.
  3. Explain that the two of you are going to play a "mirror" test game. Exchange password so that both parties can see what the results of their actions are.
  4. Explain that, before you begin, you need to develop a tactical plan and strategy. At this website there is enough background reading to give you ideas.
  5. With each turn you will send suggestions, tips, tricks and tactical advises.
  6. Make sure that the cadet is learning, and reading documents from the Academy library.
  7. At the end of the games the instructor will send a small report of the battles to the Academy commander and the army commander. The instructor will report the cadet 'fit' for duty.
  8. The academy commander will thank the Cadet for his time spend in the barracks and hand the newly promoted 'Ensign" over to the Army commander to be placed in a field battalion.
  9. The Army commander will discuss the field unit with the new Ensign.
