This is a link to the SETI-site, SETI stands for Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence.
You can download here a program that acts as a screensaver, it analyses data from radio telescopes. Once in a while the program asks if it may connect with the server of SETI to download a packet of data so it can do further analysis. The program can be setup to act only when the screensaver appears or the whole time (but that is only recommended if you have more than 64 MB RAM).
