Draga Dongo goes home

(Thanks to Hank for the report)

Dongo is eight weeks old today and yesterday she was picked up at Brigitte's home by Reina and me (Hank). Before we set out Dongo drank one latest time from her mothers milk. As far as she got something out of the nipples. And she also took a nap.

At 18h00 we set out and Dongo sat on my lap with a towel in front of her as protection against the fierce sun that in spite of the late hour was still very hot. Reina has got airconditioning in the car so Dongo didn't feel uncomfortably about the heat.

She did find it exciting and gasped a little in the beginning. After a while she vomited a little water but after that she went to sleep until we stopped to let her piddle and drink a little. After she pooped we went to eat something in a restaurant. Dongo sat in a bench, whiched she seemed to like. She slept while we ate.

Because she was very comfortable in the bench, we let her stay in it for the rest of the trip. She sleeped the whole way...

On arrival in Maarn Dongo had all the time to 'check out' the house and garden because Reina's other two dogs weren't home from a day off.

She piddled outside, back in the garden. A big cistern with water dragged her attention. She wanted to dive in it. That wasn't such a good plan, but she tried to climb over my hand to reach it. Which of course I did not let happen. Reina emptied the cistern then, that was a lot safer...

It seems a very well balanced dog. She recovers fast after she's frightened. At Brigitte's house she was hit by a broom-stick and now she's frightened when something hits the ground. But she recovers soon and her tail is on her back again.

When the other two dogs came home she went to a 'safe' place in the hall. But when the other two were quiet she came to them. In the mean time she was tired again and layed down on the towels that she recognised from in the car, reliable smell...

Reina then picked Dongo with the towels up and layed her in a big bench where she slept very well and probably had quite a dream.

After that we went back home, but not before we took some pictures of Dongo first.
