President Assad/ Meeting

DAMASCUS Sept. 27 (SANA ) President Bashar Assad held talks here today with a

European delegation comprising the Belgian Foreign Minister, Louis Michel, EU

Commissioner for External Relations Chris Patten, EU High Representative for

Policy and Common Security, and Miguel Naedal, Secretary of State for Foreign

Affairs in Spain.

Talks dealt with recent developments in the aftermath of attacks against the

US; a stress was laid on the role of European Union in cooperation with the

Arab and Islamic Worlds within the frame of the International Legitimacy.

Viewpoints were identical regarding certain points which help tackling the

causes and roots of terrorism as to find just solutions especially for Mideast

Cause.
