The first artist signed by the new melodic rock label 'Avenue Of Allies Music', Frozen Rain, is a project led by Kurt Vereecke. The least we can say is that this Belgian musician has managed to surround himself with some big names like Tommy Denander (Radioactive, Prisoner), Steve Newman (Newman), Jim Santos (Norway), Ollie Oldenburg (ex-Zinatra),... Right from the start it's clear this is an album of a very high quality, similar to the best achievements of bands in the genre like Harlan Cage, Heartland, Drive She Said, The Storm and 1st Avenue. This is a very good product with very melodic songs and even with all the guests involved this album sounds like one solid unit. The fact that there are several singers involved even adds something extra. Each of them reveals a different coloration when they raise their voices. Note also that even when this project is labelled "AOR", this does not preclude the presence of numerous guitar solos giving a powerful touch to it all. A highly recommendable album and certainly a masterstroke for Avenue Of Allies Music. I hope they will continue to release this kind of music.
