Within living memory, artists-ceramists often produced besides their artistic work also purely utilitarian ware : “les ceramiques pour l’estomac” - the bread and butter pieces -. Nowadays it still needs reflection to place ceramics in our contemporary western pattern of thinking. Our consumption is double-tracked: possession of unusable beauty and/or acquiring pure functionality without aesthetic considerations. This design touches sense and nonsense in this thinking.
