Dejonckheere Werner: 55 years old and living in Tielt (Flanders of Belgium)
As many other amateurs among us, I was begun small at this wonderful hobby and this with only 7 pairs of Grass parakeets. After we became owner of our own house I begun to breed with canaries, first the red ones. During the winter I put the men and hens separately in an outside aviary. In this aviary I returned back to the parakeets because this kind of birds are my favourites. First of all the English sized Grass parakeets and then lovebirds such as the roseicolli, personatus and ficheri. The aviary has become bigger, and also the breeding pairs. With 32 pairs I breaded several hundreds of this species. In 2002 I saw and bought me the first 2 pairs conures, Pyrrhura molinae, and that was the beginning of a very heavy passion. Little by little the other parakeets were disappearing and at this poetically moment I have already 24 breeding pairs in my possession. All this colours is something which I find very exiting; hypoxantha, cinnamon, pine-apple, hypoxantha in blue and blue cinnamon are really something special for me. Every breeder or even someone who just begin is always welcome for a free visit (after a call on the phone please), maybe you can learn something from another… See you soon………………..
Verdonck Frans, 57 years and living at Wakken (Flanders of Belgium)
In contrast to Werner, I stepped “only” back into the world of avifauna for about 25 years ago. The birds were there already as young boy, but after a while and because of certain circumstances only the microbe continues to slumber. When I learned to know Werner, it was bingo again and in no time I had 40 couples of lovebirds. With ups and downs I reached a successful breading with this birds. Then I briefly stepped into the world of a bird association as president and prevailed the service to the members. Lack of time was the reason that the small cages has to disappear for larger aviaries and also larger birds. After 10 years with continuously efforts but as always with ingratitude (from the other governing board members) I took back the time necessarily to breed birds. Additional to Werner I keep the Frontalis, (maroon bellied) as main project. According to me the fallow mutation is a splendour of a bird! You can also find several other kinds of birds who are in our possession, more information about this see our page photograph gallery. If you have questions, or if you need help you are always welcome . You find all necessary contact data at the address page. We living only at about 10 kilometre from each other, so a double visit is always possible. |

Mostly always together on bird markets, we also decided to make only one site for the both of us, which is maybe for everyone an advantage. |
