Annemie Op de Beeck studied art from a very early age and eventually attented the Academy of Fine Art in Lier (Belgium) for several years. Between 1978 and 1982, she followed the artists' workshop led by Jacky Duyck (Dilbeek - Belgium) where she gained experience in many different techniques ranging from sketching with charcoal to painting in oil. By 1986 Annemie had become inspired to paint in a free expressive style which nevertheless utilised recognisable symbols to assist in the expression of feelings. Her favourite medium is acrylic paint. Since 1995 Annemie has given courses in what she calls Intuitive Painting for self-expression and, since 1998, workshops in painting with acrylics for beginners and advanced students, decorative paint techniques and crerative workshops for children and adults. |
