On 17 September 1994, so that's 50 years later, and on the same day, the monument was solemnly inaugurated by reverend Pauwels from Mariekerke and by the mayor Jozef van Eetvelt from Bornem.
The guest of honour was Josephine Vella who was invited by our committee and accompanied to Mariekerke for this occasion.

The monument is situated at the crossroads between the Bornemstreet and 't Hoogste in Mariekerke (Bornem).
