The following article is taken from a book and is sent to me by Sadia.
The book is called LOVE IS THE DRUG
.
. . Living as a pop fan.
Edited and introduced by JOHN AIZLEWOOD.
John Aizlewood is I think the Editor-At-Large of Q Magazine which is a
British music and entertainment magazine.
The book has got lots of articles, each written by a person who was a fan of
some music group or singer, and is now involved with music somehow. Most
writers are music broadcasters, music critics or journalists.
The person who has actually written the article on The Triffids is DAVID
CAVANAGH.
He is a journalist and writes for various music magazines in Britain.
At the back of the book there are a few lines regarding each of the
contributors to the book.
About David Cavanagh it says:
David Cavanagh is a journalist who became besotted with
The Triffids as a student in 1984. Eventually, in 1989, he interviewed
them for Sounds. He found the experience strange but rewarding.
Since then he has written prolifically for Select, Q Magazine,
Mojo and Volume, without ever really experiencing the same
feeling.
