50e remise des PRIX du DAMIER ROYAL IXELLOIS

Le vendredi 19 octobre 2007, sous la présidence d'Honneur de Monsieur Jean Colaut, la traditionnelle remise des prix s'est déroulée en notre local "Le Greenwich" rue des Chartreux 7 à 1000 Bruxelles. Parmi les nombreux invités, il faut souligner la présence du Directeur des tournois FRBJD Jean-Claude Fabeck mais aussi de Luc Jennes ... plus ...

 

IN MEMORIAM Oscar Verpoest

PUTTE-KAPELLEN : Zondag 16 december 2007 is Oscar Verpoest op 84-jarige leeftijd overleden. Verpoest werd tussen 1947 en 1991 liefst 19 keer damkampioen van Belgie en nam negen keer deel aan het wereldkampioenschap. Als clubspeler was hij het laatst aktief bij de Tilburgse verenigingen DAVO en TDV. In 1996 stopte Verpoest om gezondheidsredenen met dammen. Daarna ging hij, samen met zijn vrouw, bridgen. Een bezoek aan de bridgeclub in Kapellen eindigde vorige week dinsdag fataal. Op weg naar huis, op zijn nieuwe electrische fiets, opende een automobiliste de deur van haar auto naast het fietspad waarop Verpoest reed. Verpoest kwam ten val, liep een schedelbreuk op en verloor veel bloed. Zondag overleed hij in het ziekenhuis van Brasschaat. De uitvaartdienst is vrijdag 21 december om 10.00 uur in de Sint-Dyoniuskerk in Putte-Kapellen.

Le championnat de Belgique BLITZ FRBJD à Bruxelles, le 11-11-2007

La date mémorable est toujours respectée pour cette compétition assez bien prisée par les damistes belges, malgré que cette fois, la date tombait un dimanche. La division 1 au vu des résultats a connu d'âpres combats, les 12 joueurs étant de très bon niveau ! On pouvait cependant attendre mieux de Patrick Casaril et Jimmy Depaepe !
