24/04/99: Les 12 Heures de Bruxelles (17e édition) au Damier 50naire-Bruxelles. Victoire du hollandais Kees Pippel devant Henk Klarenbeek, triple vainqueur du tournoi. Le premier joueur belge, Georges Hübner, terrmine à la 4e place. Les résultats complets en page 6.
01/09/99 : Nous avons le plaisir de vous rappeler l’adresse internet du site "Jeu de Dames" récemment créé (15/04/99) par Jean-François Foccroulle. On peut déjà y trouver pas mal de choses, notamment les adresses de tous les clubs, le règlement officiel complet, le calendrier des activités de la fédération, le classement volmac belge …etc Ce site régulièrement mis à jour donne accès bien sûr à d’autres sites traitant du Jeu de Dames; à consulter sans modération ! 11/09/99: Assemblée Générale LFJD à Charleroi, au local du club du Damier Carolo "Chez Nous" chaussée de Gilly, 191 à 6040 Jumet (Charleroi). Ouverture de la séance par le président Raymond Petitjean à 13 heures. Rapport disponible auprès du secrétariat de votre cercle.
09/10/99: 20e Championnat
LFJD de "Parties Rapides" au Château de Monceau ;
organisation impeccable par le Damier Carolo ; il faut
vraiment féliciter et remercier les talentueux et dévoués
Monique Lefever et Antoine Tack, chevilles ouvrières du jeune
club de Charleroi, pour leur dévouement et leur travail efficace
pour le Jeu de Dames dans la région. A l’issue de la
compétition, à l’occasion de cette 20e
édition, un vin d’honneur accompagné d’un gâteau
d’anniversaire à l’effigie du Jeu de Dames, a été
servi à tous les participants ; il s’agit encore là
d’une initiative très heureuse du jeune club Damier Carolo.

Le championnat d’Europe 1999 s’est déroulé aux Pays-Bas du 06 au 23 septembre dans la Salle du Conseil de la maison communale de Hoogezand. Toutes les rondes commençaient à 14h00 sauf la dernière qui fut fixée à 12h00. Les mardi 14 et dimanche 19 septembre étaient des jours de repos.
Vu les forces en présence, il faut souligner l’excellente prestation de notre compatriote Ronald Schalley.

Championnat 1999 ordinateurs
Le Championnat 1999 de Jeu de Dames par ordinateurs s’est déroulé du 29 au 30 mai à Saint-Ouen (près de Paris). Celui-ci s’est joué sur 8 rondes en Système Suisse, le temps de réflexion accordé était de 60 minutes pour 65 coups.

26/06/99: 6e Nuit des Flandres à Heule. Tournoi organisé en nocturne, de 21h00 à 9h00, dans la nuit du samedi 26 au dimanche 27. Il y avait 80 participants. Après 3 tours comportant chacun 5 matchs à jouer, les participants furent répartis en 5 groupes de 12 et 2 groupes de 10 en fonction des résultats obtenus lors des 3 premières rondes. Ils jouèrent donc 26 ou 24 parties en 12 heures. (Dans les tableaux suivants, la dernière colonne représente les résultats sur/30 acquis lors des 3 premières rondes tandis que la colonne précédente indique les résultats sur/22 ou sur/18 acquis lors de la finale).

Lors du championnat de Belgique des parties rapides qui s'est déroulé un mois plus tard à Woluwe-St-Lambert, le Damier Cinquantenaire-Bruxelles a réussi l'exploit de faire jouer 65 damistes. Cette brillante performance permet au club bruxellois de prendre la tête de ce classement.

Organisation: Damvereniging Constant Rotterdam, dans le cadre des festivités du centenaire du club. Il faut apprécier la participation de 2 jeunes joueuses belges à ce tournoi mondial.

Nouvelles de dernière minute
Secrétariat: Une fierté nationale, la Fédération Belge a pu fournir un excellent Secrétaire FMJD en la personne de Georges Hübner. Dame à la Une lui souhaite plein succès dans ses nouvelles fonctions.
Arbitres: Après l'illustre Raymond Picard, enfin des arbitres internationaux belges: Johan Demasure et Daniel Mullier ont en effet terminé le stage probatoire avec succès. Daniel a déjà officié au Championnat du Monde Filles à Parthenay et Johan Demasure est déjà pressenti pour arbitrer le tournoi sur invitation "De Bijlmer Amsterdam".
Durée des parties: Les cadences de jeu actuellement sont trop lentes, 50 ou 60 coups en 2 heures ce qui donne des parties de 4 ou 5 heures; la fédération mondiale va officialiser de nouvelles compétitions avec un temps de réflexion plus rapide, par exemple 40 minutes par joueur, ce qui donnerait des parties de 1h20, avec plus d'action et donc plus de spectacle.
Parties rapides, CB Blitz, système Fisher: Sur proposition du club de Kortrijk, la FRBJD accepte d'organiser cette nouvelle compétition vu qu'un sponsor s'y intéresse. La date reste à déterminer.
Forfait: suite à l'abandon en cours de compétition, sans motif valable, le joueur Julien Kumbi est suspendu un an de toutes les compétitions FRBJD. En outre, tous les autres matchs qu'il pourrait disputer ne seront pas pris en compte pour le calcul de la valeur de ses prestations (volmac).
