19/02/1995: Championnat interclubs VDSL disputé à Heule entre huit équipes. C’est donc le Damclub Eksel, qui remporte la victoire devant les clubs de Genk et Gent. Comme vous avez pu le lire dans le trimestriel 52, c’est le club d’Eksel qui a également remporté la victoire au niveau national ! Classement en page 10.

25/03/95: 10e tournoi International de Dolembreux; cette édition a vu la participation de 10 équipes de différents clubs belges et hollandais réparties en 3 divisions. Une coupe fut attribuée au meilleur résultat par division; les lauréats sont respectivement Alain Paquot, Jean-François Foccroulle et Tamara Wattez. Résultats en pages 9 & 10.

27/05/95: Finale à Oostmalle du 58e championnat de Belgique individuel seniors. Pour la 6e fois consécutive, cette compétition a pu se dérouler dans le cadre prestigieux du Domaine Provincial d'Oostmalle. Parallèlement à cette épreuve se disputaient également le championnat de Belgique juniors, cadets et féminin.
Chez les seniors, c'est le Liégeois Patrick Casaril qui l'emporte (pour la 3e fois, 85-86-95) avec un seul point d'avance sur les redoutables Georges Hübner, Danny Verschueren et Stephan Michiels (tenant du titre 1994). Chez les juniors, reconduction du titre pour Bryan Wollaert devant Bjorn Hoeven. Au championnat Dames, une nouvelle venue, Tamara Wattez, triomphe devant les routinières Kathy Vertsraete et Véronique Denys. Les cadets ont vu la victoire de Tijs Demasure devant Tom Verstraete et Bert Demasure.

22/04/95: Ce 22 avril se déroulait la 13e édition des "12 heures de Bruxelles". Les 80 participants ont pu jouer 12 parties appariées par ordinateur selon le Système-Suisse. Le responsable organisateur, M Jean-Claude Fabeck, avec un staff compétent, a pu une fois de plus, mener à bien cette entreprise colossale. Classement en page 6.

07/05/95: 20e Sprimont-Ixelles à Sprimont qui se termina sur un 9-1. Le Damier Sprimontois remporte donc le trophée sur le score de 14 à 6; le match aller du 22 octobre 1994 s'était terminé sur un 5-5. Résultats de la rencontre en page 10.

24/06/95: 2e "Nuit des Flandres" organisé par le "Damclub De Watermolen" à Heule.

08 & 09/07/95: Rencontre internationale Belgique-France à Bouillon; cette compétition se jouait sur 8 damiers en 2 rondes. Victoire des belges par un 18 à 14. Résultats page 18

Nécrologie

Nous avons le regret de vous faire part du décès, à Wilrijk, de Monsieur Jos Deelen; né en 1921, il était donc âgé de 74 ans.
En 1940, il apprenait le jeu de dames à Agde (France) dans un camp de réfugiés.
En 1947, il devenait membre du cercle anversois "Damclub Brabo" où il occupa longtemps le poste de secrétaire. Il s’efforçait à faire déménager le "Damclub Brabo" d’une brasserie ordinaire vers le centre d’Anvers. Il organisait la première rencontre Belgique - Pays-Bas. Il était sollicité d’occuper le poste de secrétaire de la Fédération Belge du Jeu de dames, une fonction qu’il allait remplir par intermittence, pendant plusieurs années.
En 1988, il devenait rédacteur de la rubrique "Motifs" dans le périodique "Dame à la Une".
Dans les années 50-60, il a participé plusieurs fois au championnat national tant individuel que interclubs. Ces derniers temps, il ne jouait plus guère mais il était devenu peu à peu, un fervent solutioniste de problèmes et fins de partie parus e.a. dans "Het Damspel", "Dam Eldorado", "De Problemist", "l’Effort". Pendant plusieurs années, il a dirigé un groupe de jeunes "De Kindervreugd" avec lequel il rencontrait plusieurs fois des jeunes damistes de Rotterdam.
