Démo cd-r 2007 - Heart on fire records

Subvultures

Hm...Belgium. Am I Dead Yet? The Black Heart Rebellion? Well, try Isaiah.

They recently released 6 new songs prior to this 3 song demo (which you can download from our mp3 page) so you might wanna check out those as well.

These five guys create music along the lines of classic modern european screamo acts mixed with athmospheric flavour. If I have to pull out names I would say the sound would be somewhere between shorter Daitro/Aussitôt Mort-ish melodious song structures opposing to the light version of german school rawness (Tristan Tzara, Dance Macabre, Zann) but with an undeniably more gentle approach. I could be rude and call this almost typical/your average modern day screamo sound, but there is a fine line - this is so nicely executed. Vocals are great, the guitar sound is top notch and everything is merged into very pleasant form with high relisten value. If this site would deal with demo reviews exclusively Isaiah would probably get the highest grade possible.

The cover artwork is maybe overdone with childish concept but it`s all good. Simplistic and clean, those kind of booklets are always a refreshing thing to see (and have) and Isaiah`s is no exception.

Overall, these five Belgium dudes put some nice efforts in making their first release representable as possible and judging from their myspace profile (and this review heh) it is working out just fine. Another thing worth mentioning: Heart on Fire records (Vuur, Grinding Halt, Trainwreck, Gantz r.i.p. etc.) - a very nice Belgian punk/screamo/emoviolence label whose releases (among Isaiah`s) definitely deserve bigger attention.
Go and take listen. Go and support theise people.

A demi-mots

Groupe : Isaïah
Nom du cd : *****
Année : 2007
Paye : Belgique
Label : Hey Hey Record (Amerique) // Heart On Fire (Europe)
