this section has been slightly meager of late since the prep & move of the offices and the archives have somewhat put just about everything else on the back burner...

there is also the ongoing renovation work of the new premises which has to be done in a preset timeframe - legally...

... ongoing archive research, some of which has nothing to do with anything: there is a project on the cards concerning the demise of the 'kalanag' magic show, and for some resaon the relevant newspapers of the period have become an aspect,

as well as the behind-the-wall-newspaper at BG

which includes the late sixties but even goes as far back as 1938...

And for some reason an old defunct project has re-thrust itself onto the scene: le parc intoxiquee...

This project spans a good three months - aside from a few presentations, a more definitive conclusion can be expected in the spring of 2008.

Saw the first ecursion of the blue concerns from the P-18 series... more specifically the 'Bleu longue (II)' - also bought at the BHV in commemoration of Duchamp's fist 'readymade'... and yes, it's not IKB by any streach, but very useful... anyway it was used as part of the presentations at Ostend during the annual meeting of 'Dix-Neuf Chaises' - on easter monday entitiled "Marguerite Radar":

In the meantime Bleu I and Bleu II have been subdivided, one is part of an act at BN-51, the other involved in preparatory activities at OE-29.

November 07: Odie Rynell Cash

The sencond half of november will see Odie Rynell Cash (Detroit 1969) executing a series of performative interventions onder the title

"From here to there it ain't far enough, but from here to here it's too short"

Beginning with the insertion of a coupon 'rebellion pass' in the art-magazine <H>art # 28 (8 nov) he will present himself personally with the performance "Advertisement" at the window of his abode in the Bleekhofstraat 44, 2140 Borgerhout (Antwerp) on Thursday nov. 15th at 7:30 pm. He will present a "Value Workshop" (tba) and participate in the presentation of the UKKR-brochure at the Museum for Contemporay Art Antwerp on Sunday the 18th (at 3pm). Furthermore a video & flyer-distribution project is planned from the 20th, a small private " experience exchange" in Brussels on the 22nd, followed by a public version later.

The initial projects are an introduction to a series of impromptu activities which will be developed during the course of his stay, in it'self a truncated version of a residency planned some years back. Aside from the aforementioned presentations he will document, collect and collate material for future use, both here in Belgium as well as for current projects in north america, noteably Montreal, where he will be resident for the rest of the year.

November 28th: aside from a radio broadcast ( radio centraal 106,7 FM) between 10 & 11 am, there was a general presentation of the project, collected material & documentation, short action and discussion as well as a buffet, from 8pm in the evening.

During the summer a tendency for nocturnal investigations became an interest which continues to manifest itself into the autumn.

Beginning with the pleasant surprise of a few beautiful indian summer moments and the start of the presentation season, the the inter-exchange of the seasons meant that one was caught momentarily between neither the one or the other...

the days darkening quickly and the interior becoming more apparent. So, afternoon activities become evening activities and before you know it it all becomes nocturnal... the first instance of this was a garden-do at AIR in the harbour where suddenly I found the light of the surroundings I wandered off so that before long I found myself wandering in the dark more often than not.
