To question
Rebellion Pass -media intervention; 2007
Installed in the Arts Magazine <H>ART issue # 28 <http://www.kunsthart.org/> Date of release: Thursday 8 November; 2007, a 3 week media intervention
A 1/8 ad presented as a coupon to be cut and used is inserted inviting the reader to "clip" the coupon. The text on the coupon will read "This Allows You To Question Authority At Will" (orc 2007). This experimental idealism rest upon the ephemeral experience brought into play. The significance of the project is the search for untapped energy within a society of systems that tend to lean towards following the ideas of authority figures instead of questioning their actions while using a media source to insert it into the day to day environment.
Advertisement -public action; 2007
Location: From my apartment window in Antwerp (Bleekhofstraat 44, 2140 Borgerhout) Thursday, 15 November 19h30 (7:30pm)
I will stand in my apartment window for 17 minutes in a white suit and mask and think about life in general. Others are welcome to join outside to think about life. If joining participants are asked not to speak, eat or drink until I raise my right hand with a white egg in it. This action lies within the idea of everyday contemplation as public action and art. Most theories on contemplation have sought an indirect combination of cultural values but in a global society where contemplation is affected by current political environment this action sets out to question thought processes according to rules and the necessity of art in society over political influence.

the performance took place during a quiet evening and though people stopped to look, there was not a large gathering... though some seemed to wonder if he was going to jump...
Value Workshop - public action; 2007
Location: on th "Wapper" across from 'Rubenshuis' Antwerp-center, Friday, 16 November 2007, 13h00 (1:00pm) until completed.
I will completely erase a US Dollar, British Pound, Yen and Euro 5 Note inviting others to erase their own currency note of choice. Final work will be framed and documented with the value of each one on the day erased based on the current Euro Rate and installed temporarily. The purpose of this action is to take the literal and visual description of value, obliterate it, questioning the overall concept of value and the restrictions it has on reality within cultural tradition(s) and survival exposing it's basic familiarity. An open discussion about the concept of "Value" will take place following completion.

partly due to the rather cold weather, the plan to erase various bills was abandoned and only 5 us dollars was modified ( legal tender left standing)
Untitled -'Mentality' (for Byars) - Intervention and Public Action

Location: Museum for Contemporary Art (MuHKA), Antwerp, Sunday 18, November, 15:00 (3:00 pm)
Part of the presentation of a reconstituted brochure published by the ICC in 1970, thirty artists contributed to modifying the original, thus creating a revised version 'Ultra Koninklijk Kunst Revue' - an edition of 100.
In the middle of a table will sit a large glass jar with lid with a small clear helium filled balloon. A clear label on the jar will read "constructive consciousness is categorically fluid in its situation to the object and to space" orc 2007. At the end of the conference the jar will be carried outside and the balloon released.
