Short (abridged) resident-stopover:
After various attempts and quite a few delays, we finally managed to get together at least a short and lightweight version of the reseidency we had planned before all the things went wrong that went wrong again... our relations have been sorely tested since the beginning, with works getting lost in the mail and such... but now we have it just about fixed... ORC was in Belgium from november 12th to december 3rd, and presented public & private actions at Bureau Gruzemayer, (Bleekhofstraat 46, 2140 Antwerp) and other venues:
at this point only schematic descriptions are given of the proposed activities, -soon they will be reworked to coincide with reality...

Odie Rynell Cash:
"From Here to There it Ain't Far Enough but From Here to Here it's too Short"
public and private actions at Bureau Gruzemayer, Bleekhofstraat 46, 2140 Antwerp,- Various Dates and Times Between November 15th and December 1st ( some venues still to be arranged, check schedule)
In his short career of exploring conceptual practices through objects, drawing, actions and video Odie Rynell Cash (b. 1969/Detroit) has created a varied but limited body of work, only twenty works to date and some of those only existing through documentation. His work has been recognized by the alternative gallery set for their simplicity of the examination of everyday situations, politics and chance. There is no signature style in Cash's projects sometimes working in series or only presenting a single moment or work. Chris Straetling of Bureau Gruzemayer has said about his work (1)"While his work is refreshingly simple, it carries with it a load of baggage which seems to expand on investigation"
After a nearly two year absence from exhibiting Cash will present throughout Belgium from November 8th to December 1st 2007: "From Here to There it Ain't Far Enough, but From Here to Here it's too Short." ." A series of public or private actions and intervention work addressing identifications and interfaces in the globalization of mankind. These informal and simple works will be concentrated in real-time and will give keen concentration to context, architectural and natural settings, cultural tropes and the absurd.
The projects presented by Factor44/Bureau Gruzemayer (Antwerp) are fragments inspired by the artist observations from self-isolation, arguments/discussions, public observation, travel and the mundane. The works are influenced by the artist Bas Jan Ader, Ben Patterson and James Lee Byars who themselves used/use processes that involved extreme simplicity with a social edge and have strongly impacted Cash's recent work addressing the absence of critical attention to the human process.
A multiple media intervention by Cash titled "Rebellion Pass" installed in the 8 November 2007 issue of the arts magazine [H]art.

His first public action for "From Here to There it Ain't Far Enough but From Here to Here it's too Short." took place on the balcony of his apartment located at Bleekhofstraat Nr. 44 a 15 minute action titled "Advertisement" on Thursday 15 November 2007 at 19h30
