Dépendence Temporaire du Bureau Gruzemayer:
BN-51
Another (occasional) temporary activity space locaded near the banks of the Rhine at the edge of the 'Siebengebirge' in north-westfalia where the river widens into a plain after winding it's way though castle-ruin bespecked gorges and romantic scenery...

Here too we are confronted with the historical aspects of post-war reconstruction and in a minor way an illustration of the Marshall-plan and subsequent wirtschaftswunder. The place is imbued to a degree with a personal history, but in a patchy sort of way, having been let out for many years to unknown inhabitants and extensivly renovated over the years. On the other hand it has a mental presence which forms a basic sense of who one is and where one comes from, even if this notion of identity is largely an adopted or second-hand one.

Though to a degree a very essential ingredient to the initial stages of artistic development, this space has become more of a recepticle for out-takes and second thoughts... a sort of reserve one might say. Looking back it does carry weight since many of these 'second thoughts' are in fact key to the development which spawned more readily identifiable works or project-series.
To this day it remains a backup to more defined projects rather than to be considered a project in itself.

(here a recent (november 07) view above BN-51, a square projected/reflected on the cloudcover...) In the meantime the project 'Der Hang zum Neuen' is beining initialized at OE-29 ( until transcription, that is...) after a lull, (the period dec-march P-18) things are picking up. To begin with a certain amount of attention goes to the surroundings... It has been a very long
time since some places in the Eifel were visited, and recenly I was surprised to find a number of interesting sites:

The radio telescope I remember visiting as a child, the monument/chapel is a recent find... but most of my attention will focus on places along the Rhine, being those that speak to me most when considering the background (memory) of the place and the relation to my activities over the years... as well as the perfect connection to the P-18 section:
Bahnhof Rolandseck.
(view from - more on this later)
BN-51 as part of the next step in the recherches (e)aux submersibles..
So, after getting a feel for the surroundings and considering the differnt wys in which the BN-51 situation relates to the initial submersible P-18, I decided to modify the 'Grand Bleu' in situ: (May 30 - June 2nd, 2008)
After going through various stages connected to the activities in Paris, the GB(1) was brought to Bonn to be divided into eight parts.
To achieve this the BN-51 participants wore hats to denote a version of a "Branche (temporaire) Autonome de la Galerie Legitime" section bleu as it were... the action itself carries the working title "Verteilung / Zerteilung"

with offshoot variations & impromptu's

after which the deconstruction of an 'abode' as it were, was continued...
along with various investigations into found objects...
and documentation of surroundings
(the "Bundeshaus" disappearing behind new real estate...)
while working steadily towards the 'vide'....
(weitereVorstufe der Leere / video 'Bleu II')
...should be rounded up by mid-july...
