Oplossing - Solution

Optellen van de gelijkheden levert 2x² = 288 ⇔ x² = 144 ⇔ x = ±12
Aftrekken van de gelijkheden levert 2y² = 162 ⇔ y² = 81 ⇔ y = ±9
Het stelsel heeft dus 4 oplossingen maar voor alle oplossingen is |x| − |y| = 12 − 9 = 3
