Sergt. Wounded May 19, 1863 Vicksburg, Miss.
His parrents, Eleanor and Eugene NELIS sailed from Antwerp in 1857 to the
Champion area. The city of Liege is mentionned in the family history as that
where their children went to school.
Hisn daughter Adele married Leo Pottier whose family came from the Namur area.
