single,enlisted 21 August 1861, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lt. Allen, three years,
born Belgium, painter, blue eyes, brown hair, light complextion, 5 ft 4 1/2
in. 16th Inf. Co. B. Discharged August 21, 1864 Atlanta, Ga. (Augustus never
made it home & family stories that he died Civil War. He was listed as
discharged in the middle of battle during the burning of Atlanta, Ga. Unknown
what happened to him.)
