Biography :

Was treasurer French Theater at the time of his enlistment.

In the 74 N. Y., he held the rank of Pvt, Sergt, 1^st Sergt & Pvt. On Aug. 62 on a visit Alexandria Virginia with permission of Lt Black Meyer, in command of Co., found the regiment gone. When he reported back to camp in the evening of same day, Aug. 25, reported to Colonel. Brewster of 4 Regt. Absent without leave at Alex. Va joined Sept. 2.

Transferred to Signal Corps U.S.A. from Aug. 4, 1863 per s. o. n° 226 Hd Qrs A. of P. dated Aug 22, 1863

Where he held the rank of Pvt 2d and 1st Cl. and discharged June 27, 64 by reason of expiration of service;

At the end of the war, he was married at the New York Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C. This is the church right near the White House and is often called the "Church of the Presidents." Lincoln used to attend services here.

Residences since leaving the service : from 1864 to 1870 at Washington D.C., clerk at the War Department

From 1870 to 1877 at Leavenworth Kansas, as paymaster clerk. From 1877 on at Detroit, Michigan, as cashier Hodges Bros and Consul of Belgium in Detroit, appointed Oct. 25, 1884

Applied for an Invalid Pension in 1900 by reason of Dyspepsy, Protruding Piles, Rheumatism and Both eyes Catarrh. Resided at that time in Detroit, Michigan.
