Biography :
servit dans le 35th New York Infantry. Sergent au 1er novembre 61; Sous-Lieutenant
au 27 octobre 1862; transféré Co. I au 3 février 1863; licencié en juin 1863.
S'engage dans le 18th New York Cavalry, démissionne en mars 1864, alors que son régiment se trouve en Louisiane. Il s'engage alors dans l'armée Juariste au Mexique. Capturé à Oajaca lors de la reddition de Porfirio Diaz, il refuse un grade dans l'armée mexicaine. Expulsé du Mexique, il revient à New York en début 1865. Il meurt de la fièvre jaune à Nassau pendant son voyage de retour en Europe.
