My great grandfather is Charles Louis (Heininck) Hynicks. 

He also went by Hendricks and Hendrix and so did his children(,has been confusing.)

The storys are he changed his name to Hendricks because (they?)misunderstood him, he married a Osage indian lady named Mary Pryor in Oklahoma, had a tepee and a house, then came to Mo. He had 6 children, know of only 5 children : Jeff, Charles, Molly, Lizzie, Sam and lots of grandchildren.

He come up Jasper county Mo. He lived their,and Mcdonald co. & Greene co., MO

Mcdonald co., Rocky Comfort,  MO., a 1915 Springfield mo. city directory,  has him as a painter. There are a Fred,Ella and Ezekiel Hendricks listed at the same address.  

He said he left 11 brothers an sisters in the old country.

He is buried National cemetery Springfield Mo.,Greene county, His tombstone reads Chas Hynicks, died 3-16-1917.
