Biography :
Near Corinth in January 1863, Alphonse Dupont incured chronic diarrhea and flux. Henry Devillez helped taking Alphonse Dupont to hospital at the same place in January 1863. Also near Vicksburg in july 1863, the said claimant contracted rheumatism .
Treated for int. fever 29-30 May 1864. Present till June 1864, deserted at Memphis about 1 June 1864.
Returned from desertion 16 Dec. 64, restored to duty without trial but with loss of all pay from 1 June 64 to Jan. 24, 1865.
In the fall of 1865 or early in the winter, Eugene Devillez went at work with Alphonse Dupont in Anderson Township making stones. They undertake to make a fews thousand of stones, but on account of claimant diseases named above they have to quit working, affiant being himself too weak, to continue their work.
In 1912, resident of Ranger, Perry County.
