a easy way to read your rhythms
these words "di gi - da ga - do go" are well chosen so you actually can sing the rhythm
each word tells you what hand is used and which hit should be played

the first letter tells you what hand to use 'gi' ... the 'g' stands for gauche(left hand)

the second letter tells you what hit to play 'ga' ... the 'a' stands for a Slap

the second letter tells you what hit to play 'go' ... the 'o' stands for a Base

'dra' ... the 'ra' stands for a Flam with Slaps

'dri' ... the 'ri' stands for a Flam with Tones

the "dagada-ga-da-ga-" is played in one movement, called a roullement

. dagada ga da ga . di ga da da . . .

when a rhythm starts before time/beat this is shown by putting it in the red area

2x go* di gi di gi di gi di gi . dra . . . . . * .

when playing this phrase like above twice, the notation shows that ' go*' should be played where the ' * ' is,
or in a different (longer) notation :

go* di gi di gi di gi di gi . dra . . . . . go* .
  . di gi di gi di gi di gi . dra . . . . . * .
