Because of the many white villas and thanks to the low-rise building in the centre of Carvoeiro, this former little fishing town has been able to keep much of its charm. The centre of this town was built up around the little beach, from where - even today - you can see fishing boats being pushed off (even though nowadays it's more for tourist purposes). |

The Carvoeiro-area offers several lovely beaches, mostly hidden between high rocks, hanging over the sea. Most beaches have easy access, with parking area and a number of stairs leading all the way down to the sandy beach. (ex. : Marinha, Benagil, Carvalho, Caneiros, …) |
